Ebay? Maybe…

Hello again! I’ve wanted to post sooner but it’s been a tad busy. I resurrected my desktop and I’m frustrated over the fact that Fujifilm does not offer a free download of their software (Finepix Viewer) that they shipped with my camera for transferring images to my hard drive. So I’ve got pics I want to post and I’m figuring what I’m going to do about software because I seem to have misplaced my installation disk.

I completed a trade for some new Early Crusader spearmen that actually look appropriate. This leads me to thinking that I may finish my Essex version and sell it on Ebay.

My lust for retro figs continues with enough Mike’s Models figs to morph my II/18e Macedonian Early Successor army into Alexandrian Mac./Imp. and the other Successor armies. I’m also getting my hands on a small amount of “strip” MiniFigs Hoplites. If you have any please let me know, as I am trying to complete an army of them. I’m also looking for cavalry and skirmishers. Frustrated

I’m thinking of shelving my Early Crusaders again.  I just can’t get over the fact that they put 13th & 14th Century Knights and foot in the Army Pack I purchased.  Just too many kettle & great helms and heater shields. I spent an irritating amount of time mixing and matching horses last night (some have caparisons) and I’m just dissatisfied. I can easily morph the army into Later Crusaders, but I really like the Dark Age style of the Early Crusaders (conical helmets with nasals, and kite shields).  So I guess I will have to get aroung to ordering the correct packs and do an early/later morph.

So I guess it’s back to my Mike’s Models Antigonos Successor army.

Updated Painting Schedule

Now that the Thracians are done I am posting an updated schedule of armies.  First off are my Early Crusaders who were languishing half-finished while I painted up the Thracians.

Here’s the schedule of upcoming armies in order:

• IV/7. Early Crusader – 7/12 elements + camp completed. Will be morphed to Later Crusader.
• Matched army for Crusaders, undecided at this point, probably Turks.
• II/18e. Asiatic Early Successor (Antigonos Gonatas) Sort of started.
• I/52h. Early Hoplite Greek (Phokian, for a friend, also for Wimp Wars at Historicon)
• II/49. Marian Roman (for BBDBA, still considering allies, maybe LPIA)

Armies I want to paint (no particular order):

• II/30. Galatian
• II/37. Parthian
• Successor and Alexandrian Morph
• II/5. Later Hoplite Greek (Athens and Sparta)
• I/26. Later Mycenaean and Trojan War
• IV/1a. Komnenan Byzantine
• Also kicking around ideas for Muslim and Hindu Indians, Later Samurai, and Norse Viking.

I’ve also added a bit of fluff to the galleries that tells the history my particular armies.  Pics of in-progress Crusaders coming next post.
